A useful quotation begins with measured site data, not one photo or an estimated slope. Divide the property into work zones and record terrain, surface, vegetation, clearances, hazards, operator visibility, recovery access, workload and finish requirement for each zone.
Direct recommendation
Send MERI a marked plan, measured maximum and typical slopes, access/turning dimensions, representative vegetation and ground images, total work area, mowing frequency, transport limits and destination. The checklist screens model fit; it does not replace the site risk assessment or operating manual.

Decision framework
| Area | Record |
|---|---|
| Terrain | Slope angle/grade, direction, transitions, holes, banks and drop-offs |
| Surface | Dry/wet behaviour, soil, stone, mud, roots, drainage and traction |
| Vegetation | Type, height, density, woody material, debris and required finish |
| Access | Narrowest width, height, turns, gates, rows, loading and recovery |
| Operation | Area, frequency, shifts, operator position, visibility and exclusions |
Divide the site into zones
Separate normal work, steep sections, turns, transitions, wet ground and access corridors. One average value hides the hardest segment.
Measure slope and direction
Record the tool and conditions used, typical and maximum values, and intended travel direction. Photographs without scale are supporting context only.
Describe vegetation objectively
Include height, stem diameter where relevant, density, moisture, hidden debris and the required result. Distinguish routine mowing from initial reclamation.
Measure the complete route
Check gates, rows, bridges, overhead clearance, turning, trailer ramps, storage and recovery access against overall machine dimensions.
Plan operator and third-party control
Identify line of sight, stable standing positions, roads, paths, buildings, animals and areas above/below slopes. Apply local site controls and instructions.
Send representative evidence
Provide a map, wide views, ground/detail images and short video with dates and zone labels. Reassess when weather or site conditions change.
Minimum evidence pack
- Exact asset/product identity and current configuration.
- Dated site, service or transaction records from responsible people.
- Supporting documents, photographs and measurable observations.
- Named decision owner, unresolved risks and next review date.

Buyer FAQ
Does this checklist replace professional review?
No. It structures evidence for the responsible buyer, fleet manager, broker or adviser.
Can assumptions be used as facts?
No. Label estimates and confirm material inputs before a decision.
When should the record be updated?
Update after material changes to machine, site, fleet, transaction or responsible parties.
